Senior Mechanical Engineer

The Position

Intellijoint Surgical is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in detailed mechanical design, supplier management, and Quality Assurance. In this role you will establish a concept, ensure products are engineered effectively and align specifications with product goals. You will engineer new designs and sustain existing designs to ensure conformance, reliability and performance.

Main Duties:

  • Control the manufacturing lifecycle, from specification through realization in accordance with quality system requirements
  • Develop and execute test plans and work instructions
  • Perform and document mechanical investigations
  • Develop jigs and fixtures for testing and inspections
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers
  • Actively collaborate with Operations, Quality Assurance, Product Management and others on the Research & Development team
  • Develop, modify, and maintain detailed drawings
  • Work with contract manufacturers to ensure uninterrupted supply of high quality parts
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including first article inspections and RMA
  • Acquire knowledge of the technology used in hip and knee arthroplasty 

Required Skills

Skills and Experience to Enable Success:

  • Bachelors degree in a related engineering discipline with extensive, successful work experience that relates to the objectives of this role
  • Strong understanding of statics and materials
  • Strong written and verbal communication along with the ability to communicate effectively with external partners
  • Experience being productive in a self directed environment
  • Advanced proficiency with CAD and PDM
  • Understanding of surgical instrument manufacturing processes, principles and DFM
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience working in ISO, specifically 13485 and/or 9001
